The part of the town Brumov-Bytnice was formed in 1964 by consolidation of those two villages. Local royal castle was mentioned already in 1255. Since the 18th century the castle has fallen into disrepair and after 1820 become permanently desolated. After that it succumbs to quick destruction. Architectonically interesting point is the local Gothic church of St. Vaclav modified in 16th century with Renaissance tombstones of Lords from Lomnice. On the opposite uphill of St.Anna set at the north border of the town a Jewish cemetery is situated. A 300 years old lime tree growth close to the bridge under the castle.
